Find out about our achievements

1965
Eurospuma was founded, and we developed conventional flexible polyester foams with densities ranging from 20 to 80 kg – a real innovation at the time!
1979
We partnered with raw material suppliers British Petroleum and Dow Chemicals, which allowed us to technically improve our foams.
1974
The President of Portugal at the time, Admiral Américo Thomaz, inaugurated Eurospuma's new facilities.
1980
And didn't we introduce the first high resilience foam in Portugal? This allowed us to offer more highly durable products that lasted longer.
1981
We became the first company to be licensed by Dupont (the world's largest chemical company at the time) to use high quality non-woven fabrics in pillows and duvets. The result? Products incorporating innovative processes that have given us a competitive edge in the market.
1985
We installed our second non-woven fabric line.
1990
In collaboration with ARCO Chemical, we developed a polyurethane foam boasting the resilient properties of latex – extra comfort!
1998
We are now certified by ISO 9001, expanded our cutting department, and also installed a Looper machine (which continuously laminates foam rolls). 1998 was a great year!
2001
We kicked off the 21st century with the launch of clustered fibre under our iconic Plusoft brand.
2003
With the intention of increasing the quality of our polyurethane foam and improving our capacity for industrial innovation, we replaced our production line.
2005
We formed a partnership with Advansa to launch a new line of fibre products, this time for the home textile industry. Oh, and we brought in the Eurosleep brand for our finished products.
2006
Another year filled with achievements! We started manufacturing technical foams in partnership with the American laboratory Peterson Chemical Technology; we also launched the first open cell viscoelastic foam on the Portuguese market (a more permeable foam)! We also introduced low-odour and low VOC (chemicals that can have adverse health effects) foams.
2008
We took the plunge into sustainability. In partnership with Dow Chemical, we launched Ecofoam®, a brand of sustainable foams made using polyols of natural origin.
2012
Another commitment to growth and innovation: we expanded our production area with the acquisition of state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. We also converted our production system from resin bonded non-woven fabrics to thermally bonded ones. In other words, instead of joining the fibres using resin, we now do it using thermally bonded fibres.
2017
We took part in the European UrbanRec project, whose aim was to implement an eco-innovative and comprehensive bulky waste management system across Europe. Our role was to formulate and produce a viscoelastic foam from recycled polyol; we also appeared in some online articles.
2019
Eurospuma unveiled a new look! We updated the company logo, adding primary and secondary colours that have been with us since we started. We realised that people recognised the Eurospuma brand, but we weren't making full use of it. For this reason, we reorganised and simplified our product portfolio, integrated the parent brand into our core products, and created different logos, while keeping in line with our innovations. Basically, we've put our house in order.
2022
Our dream is for our portfolio to be 100% eco-friendly. Instead of devoting a line to the environment, we have eliminated Ecofoam and committed to reformulating the entire portfolio so that one day all products will be made from bio-based or recycled raw materials. #greenvisionEurospuma and join us on our environmental mission.
2022
Have you met Spoomy? We brought an old mascot back into the fold. Our little bear carries the legacy of the founder and all the technical knowledge of our history to help our customers build the comfort of tomorrow.
2023
We launched a virtual showroom! There you can test the application of our foams on various products and discover all their technical qualities. Are you curious? (Simulate your future comfort here).
2023
We launched a new website (the one you are currently browsing), which adopted a more informative approach.
Of course!

We test our products thoroughly, so you can get the best out of them.
We are certified under ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV Rheinland to ensure the effectiveness of our processes.

Quality, Environment, and Major Accident Prevention (MAP) – Management Policy

Quality, yes or yes?

We take care of our planet!

We believe in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by United Nations member states. We want to be part of the solution, not the problem. Take a look at what we’re working on!

On foams

We use bio-based and recycled raw materials. Our ECO line is what sets these products apart.

To ensure the safe use of our products, we produce foams in accordance with OEKO-TEX® requirements. We are part of the UrbanRec project, which aims to implement an eco-innovative and integral European system for managing bulky waste.

Right now, we don’t waste anything and our foams are reused in products from our Composite line

Our focus is to increase the supply of ECO products.

On fibers

Most of our products are produced with recycled fibers between 65 and 100%.

Our vision? That all these products are made from 100% recycled fibres.
We also have products made using bio-based raw materials, namely Ingeo™ technology. In order to ensure the safe use of our products, we produce non-woven fabrics in accordance with OEKO-TEX® requirements
We respect Labour Code legislation (Articles 24 and 25 of the Portuguese Labour Code) regarding the right to equality in access to employment and at work and prohibiting discrimination. We seek to provide the best working conditions on a daily basis in order to protect the physical and psychological well-being of our team.  In terms of healthcare, we provide curative and occupational medicine, physiotherapy, and occupational gymnastics services on our premises. From languages to specific technical areas, our training is continuous.
We are building a team that is increasingly prepared to face daily challenges.
